Welcome to the next installment of my short story, Escape. If you’re new here, read from the beginning here. Escape is set in the same world as my latest release, Trust in Me.
Even though he’d been too late to protect her, Tiffany had found a way to escape. It should have been a happy ending. Certainly her family had cried happy tears and given him hugs, proclaiming him a hero. They didn’t know what he had done, and he hadn’t the courage to tell them.
The crunch of tires on gravel warned him of an intruder. He wiped his sweaty palms on his shirt and grabbed his gun from the table on his way out front.
Be sure to visit the other sixers here!

Is he a hero? I really, really want him to be a hero. More, please!
Such a visceral and compelling story, Skye. Love your six!
You’re such a strong writer. Compelling story.
Emotive and intriguing piece. Wonder how it’s all going to pan out!
I think he’s a hero, at least I hope so
Every six has such a strong emotional pull. Well done. Enjoy stopping by every week.
I’m already drawn into the story. Wonderful six!
His first thought is an intruder, total hero material. I’d hide behind him, lol. My love for your writing continues.
Very exciting and fast-paced. The cover is awesome!
Intense. I want to find out more about the character. Great 6.
Edgy. What did he do?
he may still feel guilty, but he’s not letting that get in the way of clear- headed thinking. Definitely hero material, though a more edgy hero than usual. I mean, he did use Tiffany. Great six!
I love the suspense. Great job!
