Publisher's summary

I'd never even kissed a boy the night I met Stone. The night I saw him kill. The night he spared my life. That was only the beginning.

He turns up in my car again and again, dangerous and full of raw power. "Drive," he tells me, and I have no choice. He's a criminal with burning green eyes, invading my life and my dreams.

The police say he's dangerously obsessed with me, but I'm the one who can't stop thinking about him.

Maybe, it's wrong to let him touch me. Maybe, it's wrong to touch him back. Maybe, these twisted dates need to stop. Except, he feels like the only real thing in my world of designer labels and mansions. So, I drive us under threat, until it's hard to remember I don't want to be there. Until it's too late to turn back...

Hostage is a dangerous stand-alone romance by The New York Times best-selling authors Skye Warren and Annika Martin. It's set in the same world as Prisoner, but can be listened to separately!

"Deliciously sexy, emotionally gripping...Hostage rocked my whole world." (Marni Mann, author of Prisoned)

"Fast paced and oh so addicting!" (Rachel Van Dyken, number one The New York Times best-selling author)

Loved it!

This is one of the best stories I've heard in a while. I couldn't stop listening, I had to find out how it would all play out. Fantastic narration by both narrators. I would highly recommend this audio!

Excellent story telling

Loved the main characters, and the secondary ones as well. Would like to see more books starring the other "brothers ". Definitely reccomend this book and these narrators.

Very Good Finale - 4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

This was another well-written, mostly home run title for these two authors. The only reasons I docked half a star from my rating:

• During some of Brook’s POV chapters, her internal monologue was overwritten. The writing just wasn’t as tight during these parts compared to the first book, resulting in melodramatic and treacly language. So I got a little bored during a couple of the chapters.

• The book had amazingly hot sexual tension and steamy sexual scenes, but not quite as much full-on sex for my liking. The reason makes sense; Brook is underage during the the first half of the book. So I appreciate the authors’ treading carefully there, not wanting to seemingly condone a 27-year-old man fornicating with a 16/17 year old girl. (They probably also didn’t want to turn off a lot of readers.)

But these flaws didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story. It was a very good title and the HEA, though wrapped in a tidy bow, was moving and well earned. (It didn’t make me cry, but it did leave me grinning stupidly 😂 and wishing for a sequel.)

Narrators did a fantastic job.

Love the narrator

I like the narration I like the story up to when the female lead keep defending her father when he knew about the abuse even if he found out after the fact he still knew and looked the other way. And the male lead fought with his so called brothers over a girl i get that he loved her but what they went thru together in the basement and the bond they had should have been stonger than a girl in my opinion.

Riveting

This is the second book of the series and it was just as good, if not better, than PRISONER. It can be read as a standalone, but was better because of reading book one. I couldn't wait to see how Stone and Brooke's romance was going to play out with Stone being so hard. I was not disappointed! I couldn't easily pause the audio and turned it back on as soon as I was able. I hope there will be more books coming with the rest of the guys finding their romance.

Jacob Morgan and Lauren Sweet were excellent narrators. Their performance was spot on and brought all kinds of emotions to the characters.

Great narration

Great story and great narration. I only wished I had listened to the 1st book Prisoner first. But I realized too late that this was the 2nd book. It still was a good story.

Beyond riveting!

OMG!!! This IS better than part one but it’s good to read part one first.

Stone is fascinating, gripping and sad. I smiled and cried - Jacob Morgan brought him to life. Lauren sweet did well for a teenage girl voice I suppose but I found myself skipping a lot. The producers, seriously, whoever does this really needs to start thinking or listening to reviewers… whenever Jacob Morgan is blessing a book? Give him more to narrate - that’s it! No ifs or buts then the story becomes 10x better. I’ve read reviews where a lot of people say they could listen to him reading the phone book and he still doesn’t read more chapters… he has the ability to carry books! I for one listened to a mediocre book but listened to the end because Morgan was reading…

So,

No spoilers from me other than if you listened to Prisoner (wether you liked it or not) you have to listen to this! Worth a credit AND buying it outright! It will grip you and leave you thinking about it long after it’s done.

The end there felt a little rushed, I would have been okay with a few chapters at least 2 of closure. The story is sad and of overcoming the worst of circumstances, triumph if you will… I wonder if the other guys will get stories. I fell in love with Nate. If there’s a story I’d love to see him find someone smart (not every skinny 🙄) and not a weak character pretending to be strong and have a sweet life, hot and sexy one too 😃

Happy reading/or listening to the angel voice that is Jacob Morgan

Great story, Great narrators!

First, I don't understand why anyone dislikes the female narrator, Lauren Sweet. I think she has a very pretty, pleasant voice and is very expressive. I saw one review about the previous story saying she ends all of her sentences like they're questions, and I'm telling you, as someone who can't stand when people do that, she DOES NOT do that. I don't know what kind of male voice they're expecting a woman with a feminine voice to make, but I found her efforts to be perfectly good. Male narrator Jacob Morgan has a very sexy voice. It's a very masculine voice, but no one is displeased with his female voice not being super femme the way they seem to expect Lauren Sweet to do a super masculine male voice. /shrug

They're a wonderful pair of narrators.

As for the actual story... I *loved* this story. It's unbelievably sexy. I love these stories with strong, sexy, complicated men who have walls around their hearts, except they seem to have no defenses when it comes to their woman. Annika Martin and Skye Warren have a knack for creating insanely sexy, complex, multi-faceted characters together. The mean are strong, and protective, but not overbearing in a gross, sexist way, and the women are strong even when vulnerable, they stand up to their men when they're scared. They're brave even when they feel weak and like there's nothing they can really do to get out of their situations. I just LOVE this series. Martin + Warren = MAGIC.

I also geeked the absolute fudge out over the fact that it was mentioned that the guys were playing their current favorite video game, Destiny 2, which happens to be my own favorite video game. Still geeking out right now.
