Dirty Little Secret: Favorite Alpha and Second-in-Command Team
I really enjoyed the partnership between Lucien de Malheur and Jacob Donnely. Anne Stuart has a track record of dark, ruthless heroes and strong secondary romances, but this book is more, more, more on both counts. But Jacob tempered Lucien’s evilness, because we got to see Jacob nettle him, and ultimately trust him with the heroine. And we saw how inherently good natured Jacob was, and if he trusted Lucien, then we also did. Their partnership, while not being central to the book, really pulled it all together.
