I prefer my heroes dark and broody over blonde and boisterous. What can I say? I like my men
and my romances dark! I tend to picture them with dark hair even if the book says otherwise and I find it really distracting when the author keeps injecting other hair colors, like the blonde Sebastian from Kleypas’ Devil in Winter or all those red-headed Mackenzies from Jennifer Ashley. Not that Sebastian or Ian are boisterous, mind you, just fair-colored.
That said, I’ll admit to a crush on a certain white collared criminal who’s on TV…
Dark hair? Check. Brooding? Well, he’s got a cheery exterior, but inside he’s all kinds of tortured.
